Yea it's RAINING

Today was better than yesterday, that's for sure. And, yahhhh we are finally getting some much needed rain, we are about 12" below normal here and have a statewide burning ban in effect. They are calling for rain for the next 3 days at least so let it rain, let it rain, let it ran.

We are suppose to go to my parents house in Franklin County on Friday and stay until Sunday, we are having a big Halloween party there, get to dress in costumes and have a blast. I will try to post pictures if I can figure out how to do that. Hubby is gonna be a blow up woman so that is going to be interesting.

Ooey Tuesdey

Yesterday wasn't a good day, I felt like blahhh all day, guess this weather cold one day, hot the next. I had a migraine too which is badddd!! Nothing more unusual about yesterday though another day at work trying to focus on my work, all in all I lived so I guess that is worth something.

Typical Monday

Today was a typical Monday. It starts off with hubby getting up at 3:00 a.m. as usual, then at 4:30 a.m. or so he wakes me up by giving me my morning kiss and giving me my cup of coffee. After struggling to open my eyes I go to the bathroom, which is now fixed, and wash my hair. I come to the computer and check my mail then blow dry my hair, all the while still trying to get my eyes all the way open...LOL

While doing this my hubby has gotten dressed, packed our lunches, got our coffee ready to go, put everything we brought home on Thursday in the truck and is waiting patiently for me. I grab my pocketbook, make sure I have my phone and sunglasses and out the door we go, by this time is is around 5:20 - 5:30 a.m.. Thank heavens we work or should I say park at the same location so we get to ride together each day. I think this is a good thing cause I am still trying to wake up. We get to work at 6:00 a.m., kiss each other by and get into our work trucks.

Well this morning I had to go in the opposite direction of work because I had to pick up some paperwork from a Contractor's office before going to my office. I pick this up and head towards to office. When I get there my boss is upstairs and he wants to talk...the usual...how was your weekend, this was how mine was etc. I give him the papers and go back downstairs because I am swamped with paperwork. After about 30 minutes or so here comes my boss again, yapping nonstop. I guess I shouldn't complain because some people have bosses they can't bulls*** with. He tells me he has a meeting then he's gone at 10:30 a.m. and out the door he goes.

Finally, I can get some work done. After completed most of my work a co-worker comes in and talks and talks and talks, he finally leaves and it is quite, again. Before you know it, it is 3:30 and I head to District to meet hubby so we can leave for the day. At 4:00 p.m. we are out of there. One good thing is right now I am the book-keeper on 3 different projects. I have 2 project where there are Inspector's working under me, doing the field work and then the other project I am sole book-keeper on, so most of my days is spent in the office instead of inspecting the projects. Since I do the books I get to work 4 - 10 hour days so I get off on Fridays and have a 3 day weekend.

We run by the babysitters and pick up the lil princess and come home. I call my son in advance and have him throw a pizza in the oven and that is supper. We eat and hubby is not feeling good so he said he was going to watch Fantastic Four, the new one and lay down so me and the little one are playing but here in a little while I am going to bed myself. My son, Chris is the perfect babysitter, he loves her to death and she loves him even more. He will watch her until my daughter, Tiffany gets off work at 9:30 tonight, then we start all over, bright and early in the morning.

My other daughter, named Tiffany also, went job hunting today, we haven't heard anything from her so we don't know how that went. I sure hope she finds something soon. And the baby, Nikki popped in real quick to grab some gas money and off she went again, guess she will be home about 10:30 tonight.

Summer got her ears pierced!!

Yesterday was a good day, busy but good that is until we had to go get groceries. Now don't get me wrong, I don't mind going to the grocery store but not when people decide to just stand in the middle of the aisle, talk to each other and block the whole floor. The bad thing is when you try to go around them you say excuse me and they look at you like you have just committed murder...GEEZ. At least this is how the Walmart in the "Burg" is but we have started going to the Walmart in Altavista, this one is laid back and not to many people either...YAAYY!!

My daughter had to work yesterday and her soon to be ex had the lil princess (my granddaughter Summer) so I went to pick her up and as soon as she saw me is was "Nana, Nana" just as sweet. We get her settled in the truck and go to Walmart. I head straight to the Jewelry counter, cause my daughter and I decided we were gonna get her ears pierced, and asked the lady if she could pierce her ears, of course she said yes.

She gets the kit together and I sit down in the chair holding Summer, she starts by cleaning her ears off. Well, Summer is ticklish on her ears and started squirming and trying to get her head down on her shoulder, of course the lady thought this was cute. After cleaning her ears she gets tries to mark her ears, of course Summer is squirming again. The whole time I am thinking, man I hope she don't do this when she starts to pierce them. Finally.....the lady gets the plastic contraption and has no problem with the first hole but oh do we have a problem with the second one. Princess knew exactly what was gonna happen so I had to get hubby to hold her right arm down while I held the left one while trying to hold her head. Click, and it is over, thank heavens.

It wasn't that it hurt the little one but she just didn't want that thing on her ear cause when the second earring was in she was fine and wanted to "look." We paid the lady and took her around to look at the Christmas stuff, you wouldn't have even known she just got them pierced. We finally got our groceries, which was the easy part and came home. My problem with getting groceries is I HATE to put them away, so basically I get them out of the bag and have hubby put them up. Once this is finished we can finally relax and eat supper. Of course this consisted of a sub from Subway cause neither one of us wanted to cook last night.

All in all it was a good day and not to stressful.

Bathroom Woes

Have you ever noticed that when one thing breaks then others seem to follow? During the week our shower started leaking somewhere behind the wall, this water was going down through the wall and into our sons room in the basement. He came to us and said, "Did you know the bathtub is leaking because I have a puddle of water in my floor?" Well, when this was checked the water had landed on his built in entertainment center, run across the top and down into the floor. So, Lewis, my husband checked the shower looking in the small opening that was left near the floor, he couldn't see everything associated with the shower so he had to tear the wall out, which meant removing the shelves in the closet and tearing the wall out. The piece that was leaking was the flange to the shower, apparently the owners that built the house decided to use plastic and it wore out. Once this piece was removed the toilet handle broke, so off to Lowes we went to buy all the necessary parts. Today Lewis is in the bathroom fixing the broken parts and now, since the closet looked terrible he is painting the walls and shelves and once this dries maybe I can put everything back and have my bathroom again. While he has been holed up in the bathroom I have been cleaning the house, cleaned out the fridge and started washing clothes but doing all this work just makes me want a shower even more...LOL You don't know how much you miss having an operational bathroom until it starts to fall apart!!

Release

It is Saturday morning and we are already over half way through Ocotober, this year has flown by, at least for me. I had this weird dream Thursday night in which I actually dreamed of having my own blog site that would benefit me but also may benefit other people. I'm not a counselor, nor a psychiatrist, I am an ordinary, hard working person that has "life" problems just like everyone else does. I hope people will use this blog to feel better. I came up with "Release" because sometimes we all need to just "talk" about things that are going on in our lives without someone making us feel like we are stupid or making us feel like whiny babies. I'm hoping you will use this blog to get things off your chest with your comments, lift the world off your shoulders and make you feel a little better, or make you feel a little happier. Let me give you a little information about me:I am a 39 year old female from Brookneal, Virginia. I work for the Transporation Department as a Construction Inspector. In my 39 years of life I have been through the death of my Papa when I was 4, mental illness in my family where my parents both tried to commit suicide, at different times and in different years. I watched both my parents struggle to find jobs so we could have food on the table and then sometimes there was only enough food for us kids or for just the 2 younger kids, there were years that we didn't have gifts for Christmas, just an orange and maybe a pair of socks. At 13 I volunteered at a Nursing Home, there was an elderly lady there that had broke her hip and could go home but needed a caregiver, so since her and I were so close she wanted me to live for her 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for $75.00 a week for approximately 2 - 3 months, my parents agreed and this is what I did using the money I received from her for school clothes. I got married as soon as I turned 15, had my first child at 16 and 5 months, my second child at 18 and my third child at 20. I have been through divorce, remarried, have 3 step-kids, and 2 grandkids. I have been through deaths in the family, health issues with myself and family, bankruptcy, weddings, heartache, heartbreak, confusion, happiness, sadness, depression and more. This is just a few of things I have personally been through. That is just a little taste of the ups and downs in my life, some happy, some sad, some joyful, some painful, but all in all that's what life is all about. I just wish I would have had a place years ago to go to and get some "release."
